Broad Street Brewing Co. Becomes Downtown Brooksville’s First Brewery

Downtown Brooksville got its first brewery when Broad Street Brewing Co. opened on Jefferson Street — the third brewery to open anywhere in Hernando County, and the first inside Brooksville’s own historic downtown core.

Beyond its own handcrafted beers, the taproom pours a wider lineup than most breweries bother with: wine, mead, cider, seltzers, non-alcoholic options, and THC beverages alongside the house brews. The room itself leans into local art covering nearly every wall, with seating split between the cozy indoor taproom and an outdoor area — plus a rotating schedule of live music and food trucks that keeps regulars coming back on different nights for different reasons.

Reviewers consistently point to two things: the range of beer (both Broad Street’s own and guest taps from other Florida breweries) and a staff described as chill and welcoming rather than rushed. For a county that’s only just getting its first home-grown breweries, Broad Street landing in the middle of downtown Brooksville — walkable to everything else on the block — matters more than the beer list alone would suggest.

Good to know: Broad Street Brewing Co. is at 291 E Jefferson St, Brooksville. Open Wed 3–9 p.m., Thu noon–10 p.m., Fri–Sat noon–midnight, Sun noon–7 p.m.; closed Mon–Tue.
