The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk comes back to downtown Brooksville this November, part of a national series the Tunnel to Towers Foundation runs across the country to fund mortgage-free homes for Gold Star and fallen first responder families and specially adapted homes for catastrophically injured veterans.
The Brooksville race starts at 15 S Broad St in the historic downtown, with a course that keeps runners and walkers close to the courthouse area rather than sending them out onto highway shoulders. Registration categories split out adults, first responders and military, youth 13-17, and kids 12 and under, with entry fees scaled accordingly — $35 for adults down to $10 for young kids.
Race packet pickup happens the Friday before at Buick GMC of Brooksville on Cortez Blvd, and online registration stays open right up until 7:45am race morning for anyone who decides at the last minute. It’s a flat, walkable downtown course, which makes it approachable for people who run 5Ks occasionally rather than competitively.
